Sona took a deep breath, inhaling the sweet scent of the air freshener, knowing that being summoned to the principal’s office usually meant you had done something terribly wrong, and the thought alone made Sona break into a cold sweat despite the air conditioning.
“You’re just in time, Jay Mittal. Let’s get straight to the point. Sona Mathur is a straight-A student, and you know she’s here on a scholarship. Jay, your grades are falling, and I’ve spoken to your parents. They’ve decided to hire a tutor for you.”
